Ductmaster Thermal Nominated For H&V Award
Nuaire’s award-winning thermal ducting range, Ductmaster Thermal, has now been nominated for a second industry award, further evidencing its success as an innovation in domestic ventilation.
Ventilation manufacturer Nuaire developed the insulated ducting range to help housebuilders save time and costs on site when installing MVHR systems, whilst ensuring that their installations meet current building regulations and follow best-practise. Ductmaster Thermal scooped the Housebuilder Product Award in 2014 and has now caught the attention of industry judges on the H&V Awards panel, earning it a place in the Air Movement Product of the Year category.
Ductmaster Thermal features a unique clamping mechanism that forms an air-tight seal, eliminating the risk of condensation forming in the duct. With no need for any sealant or tape, installation is simple and quick, helping to lower labour costs for installation on site. The product has recently achieved LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Certification for both round and rectangular ranges, meaning that Ductmaster Thermal is approved for use and backed by the LABC on any of their new build and refurbishment projects.
Nuaire Product Manager Wendy Thomas said: “We pinpointed a growing issue in the MVHR installation process: because the process of insulating ductwork through unheated spaces is often so labour-intensive and difficult in the tight confines of loft-spaces, often the correct methods are not followed and the installation doesn’t comply with current building regulations. To solve the problem we have designed an innovative product that, unlike other insulated materials that wrap around the PVC pipe, is an all-in-one system where the insulation used for thermal protection is the duct itself. Ductmaster Thermal is the only all-in-one solution that is fully compliant with building regulations.”
Mrs Thomas continued: “We are eagerly awaiting the H&V Awards this spring. Being nominated is in itself a mark of industry recognition, and one that many of our customers respect. We’re in good company in the Air Movement Product of the Year category and look forward to hearing the final results at the Awards Dinner.”
