Despite the fact that most modern cars today are battery powered, there is still a large majority of vehicles that run on fossil fuels and produce a high amount of harmful pollutants
Our high temperature axial fans are ideal for removing combustible gasses, fuel spill vapours and un-combusted fuel particles to ensure a safe environment.
Car park & Smoke Extract Fans
One of the biggest hazards in the event of a car park fire is smoke inhalation. Our high temperature smoke-rated controlled pulse fans provide a flexible directional flow to respond to any fire location – containing, channelling and removing the smoke to facilitate safe evacuation and more efficient firefighting access.
Jet Fan Ventilation
Jet Fans provide more of an effective method of extracting the smoke rather than a standard jet or axial installation. Impulse systems are used to control and remove harsh pollutants, such as carbon monoxide on a day-to-day basis. Ventilation within car parks is so important especially when there is a higher chance of an emergency occurring. In a situation where there maybe a fire the smoke must be extracted quickly and efficiently – aiding in the safe evacuation of occupants.
When positioned correctly, the air stream from the jet fasn will help limit the amount of smoke surrounding the origin point of the fire preventing futher spread and damage. Ontop of all of this the fans allow for the smoke to be extracted keeping emergency exits clear.
How do Jet Fan Systems work
Step 1:
On a day to day basis the system will always run at low speed, ensuring carbon monoxide and other harsh pollutants are within the acceptable limits. The system is controlled via the strategically placed detectors throughout the facility. In case of a vehicle fire and the smoke starts to spread, the system will begin the extraction.
Step 2:
If a vehicle fire starts within the facility the smoke detection will identify the situation, activate the fire alarm and then switch to smoke mode, the smoke detectors throughout the car park will identify which units are located by the affected fire zone and will increase their fan speed to allow for maximum extraction.
Step 3:
Once the smoke is contained, it is then directed towards the main exhaust unit where it can be safely extracted out of the facility and into the atmosphere, minimising the spread of smoke within the car park, keeping large areas clear and enabling the area to be quickly and safely evacuated.
