Operation
The supply and extract ventilation unit shall be as indicated on the drawings and shall be in accordance with the fan schedule in the technical specification.

Supply air to the room shall be pre-heated by the extract air via the integrated heat exchanger block. The ventilation unit shall automatically adjust the ventilation rate as it receives signals from one of the interconnected sensors. When the signal is received the fan shall vary its speed proportionally or on a trickle and boost principle.

Supply and extract air to and from the space shall be via ductwork as shown. All pipework for condensate from the unit to be as per the relevant section in technical specification. All necessary ductwork fittings and ancillaries shall be allowed for by the mechanical sub contractor.

The unit shall have the facility to commission the integrated supply and extract fans via inbuilt minimum and maximum speed adjustment and it shall also have integrated volume control dampers for individual branch balancing, providing accurately set ventilation rates to each area.

Unit specification
The fans shall be acoustically lined with high density class “O” flame retardant insulation, giving extremely low noise levels. It shall be complete with a high efficiency heat exchanger block, 2No-filters, integral minimum and maximum speed controls, run on timer and facia mounted failure indication. The breakout noise level and power requirements shall be as detailed by the unit manufacturer and as detailed in the ventilation equipment schedule.

The unit shall have low energy, high efficiency d.c. fan/motor assemblies with sealed for life bearings.

The unit shall be supplied complete by the manufacturer with 2Noterminal boxes, one for the power supply to feed the unit, the other is for the interconnection of Ecosmart control devices.

The unit shall have a heat exchanger block manufactured from aluminium with a thermal efficiency of up to 70% which shall be protected by G2 grade filters on supply and extract. It shall come complete with a condensate drip tray and drain connection. The heat exchanger block and filters shall be easily removed for maintenance purposes via the access panel.

The depth of the low profile unit shall not be greater than 185mm and shall incorporate a low profile single point mounting bracket, with a pre-stressed synthetic anti vibration strip. The unit shall be constructed with two removable panels allowing full maintenance access.

To facilitate the interconnection of branch ducts the unit shall have 3x100 dia. & 1x125 dia. spigot connections on the supply and extract sections respectively. These shall be in the form of a multi function knock out panel, enabling the connection of a 100 & 125 dia spigot and rotates to enable individual air volumes to be balanced. A 125 dia spigot on the fresh air inlet and exhaust connections shall also be provided.

Units shall be the OPUS-Xbox as manufactured by Nuaire.

Control Options
All versions shall have the following functions integrally mounted within the fan unit on a purpose made PCB, all such components pre-wired and factory fitted by the manufacturer:

• Integral speed control on supply and extract
• Integral background ventilation control/set point
• Integral boost ventilation control/set point
• Integral run on timer
• Volt free failure indication (direct from individual fan)
• Integral S/L terminal for boost from remote switch, e.g. lightswitch
• Integral low voltage terminal for boost trigger from remote low voltage switch
• 3 years manufacturers warranty (4 years when specified with Ecosmart controls) First year parts and labour, the remainder parts only.

The unit shall be controlled by the ECOSMART control devices as detailed in the particular schedule or as indicated on the drawings. Fan shall of the OPUS Xbox type as manufactured by Nuaire Ltd.

The manufacturer’s recommendations should be observed at all times.
