Design Engineer

Job Profile

To undertake professional engineering design activities related to a product, process or system within Nuaire’s New Product Development department.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Plan and execute appropriate project activities as identified or directed within structured project timelines
  • Apply engineering knowledge and practice to all tasks of innovation, development or routine problem solving
  • Utilise CAE software including CAD, CAM and simulation tools
  • Preparation of manufacturing information, database entries and work-instructions
  • Adhesion to relevant codes of practice, department procedures and recognised standards

Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Inventor
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office products, good working knowledge of Excel
  • High level of mechanical comprehension
  • The capacity to focus on a task while maintaining sight of the larger project
  • Ability to effectively communicate with multi-disciplined teams

Personal Profile

The ideal candidate should possess a positive outlook and be receptive to developing and implementing new ideas. They should be enthusiastic, with a desire to produce quality work as a reflection of their ability

Qualifications / Experience

  • Academic or vocational qualifications in mechanical design / engineering
  • Sheet-metal CAD / CAM and fabrication knowledge
  • Experience of standard manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to relevant national and international standards (BS7000 series, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 etc)
