Case Study - Getting Set for Wimbledon
Ask anyone to think of Wimbledon and most people will describe long hot June days, the thump of ball on racket, the call of the umpire, and strawberries and cream……
Imagine Wimbledon with no catering facilities and you understand why, when the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club decided on a complete refurbishment of the clubs catering facilities, a run and standby arrangement was a pre-requisite in the kitchen in case of malfunction.
Unfortunately the design of the kitchens did not allow enough room for 2 fans and an alternative solution was needed. Nuaire was approached due to our reputation for working with our client’s to offer the right ventilation solution for their specific requirements.
Nuaire’s technical team worked in partnership with Foreman Roberts, the consultant and Skanska, the contractor, throughout the design phase to find a solution to meet the needs of the project.
As a result an airmover unit was developed with a rapid change motor/impeller and a pre-wired socket, enabling these items to be removed and replaced immediately from stock held on site ensuring no down time in the kitchen.
As well as the bespoke airmovers Nuaire is also providing a range of conventional ventilation equipment: Ecosmart Xtractor, Ecosmart Airmovers and Ecosmart twin fans. Refurbishment has already started to coincide with the end of Wimbledon fortnight and will be also include new stands for some of the courts.
